OBJECTIVE: |
||
| TO INCREASE PRINTER PERFORMANCE BY COMPLETELY ELIMINATING FIBERS, REDUCING CROSS CONTAMINATION AND REDUCING THE NUMBER OF DUMMY SUBSTRATES NEEDED TO ESTABLISH AN EFFECTIVE PRINT | ||
| Vacuum Chamber: | DSP AND PSE PRINTERS | |
| Vacuum Chamber Process Residue: | RESIDUAL PASTE LEFT BEHIND ON STENCILS, SCREENS AND PRINTING UTENSILS | |
| Vacuum Chamber Components: | PRINTER STENCILS, SCREENS, SHIELD PLATE, WIPER ARM, SPATULA AND ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT USED DURING PRINT RUN |

| Step 1: | Using proper procedure and safety guidelines; remove all items from printer that are required to be cleaned and replaced in between print runs |
| Step 2: | Remove excess paste from all utensils using appropriate spatula and deposit paste back into properly labeled paste container |
| Step 3: | Apply a fair amount of isopropyl alcohol onto one UltraSORB® Foam Wiper but ENSURE NOT TO OVERLOAD IPA to where it is dripping (See Fig 1) |

Fig 1: Apply sufficient amount of IPA to foam wiper, but NOT dripping with solvent, to PREVENT wiper from sticking while wiping utensils |
||||
| Step 4: | Fold UltraSORB® Wiper into ¼’s (quarters) and proceed to gently wipe paste from all utensils | |||
| Step 5: | Refold foam wiper over to expose all clean sides of the wiper and apply more solvent as necessary to effectively remove paste | |||
| Step 6: | Repeat steps 3 & 4 as necessary to effectively remove paste from printer equipment. Tech will be able to clean all printer utensils with 3 UltraSORB® Foam Wipers | |||

| Step 7: | Apply sufficient amount of isopropyl alcohol onto one UltraSORB® Foam Wiper |
|||
| Step 8: | Fold foam wiper into ¼’s (quarters) and proceed to gently wipe paste from all areas within printer that is required to be cleaned (See Fig 3) | |||

| Step 9: | Repeat steps 1 & 2 as necessary to effectively remove paste from printer | |||
| NOTE: | RECOMMEND WIPING EXCESS PASTE FROM LOADED SCREEN WITH ONE ULTRASORB® FOAM WIPER PRIOR TO PLACING INTO SCREEN WASH | |||
| WIPING CLEAN SCREEN WHEN PLACED INTO PRINTER: | ||||
| NOTE: | THIS REQUIRES VERY LITTLE SOLVENT | |||
| Step 10: | Fold UltraSORB® Foam Wiper into ¼’s (quarters) | |||
| Step 11: | Using a squeeze bottle, apply a single line of solvent ½ inch down from top of foam wiper | |||
| Step 12: | In a smooth back-to-front motion proceed to wipe the underneath side of the clean screen, covering the entire screen (See Fig 4) | |||

| Step 13 | Refold wiper exposing the driest-side of the foam wiper | |||
| Step 14: | While applying gentle pressure, repeat wiping the underside of the screen with a smooth front-to-back motion | |||
| NOTE: | THIS PARTICULAR TECHNIQUE WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF DUMMY PRINTS NEEDED TO BE RUN PRIOR TO ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE PRINT | |||
