SMT Cleaning Comparison

Current process calls for using Bemcot followed by a polyester wiper.
The resulting problem is fibers and incomplete cleaning of the stencil.
Stencil was removed from the DEK printer and cleaned with Bemcot M3 and IPA.
The stencil was returned to the printer for 30 minutes, removed and cleaned with HT4699 UltraSORB® and IPA.
Stencil removed & cleaned Bemcot M3/IPA
HT4699 UltraSORB cleaned w/IPA
The stencil was returned to the printer for 30 minutes and cleaned with a standard polyester wiper and IPA.
The stencil was returned to the printer for 30 minutes and cleaned with HT4699 UltraSORB® Wiper and IPA while on printer.
Cleaned w/Std Polyester wiper & IPA
HT4699 UltraSORB Wiper & IPA cleaned
In conclusion, we can observe that the best results were obtained using HT4699 UltraSORB® Sponge due to the fact that it leaves practically no residues in comparison with the polyester and Bemcot wipers, which leave notably more residues in side apertures and over the stencil. Moreover, it is possible to improve throughput as the stencil can be adequately cleaned on the printer and without the normal over/under wiping process.
