Foamtec manufactures a wide range of swabs designed to protect ESD-sensitive components from electrostatic discharge. Three types of tip materials are thermally bonded to a static dissipative handle designed to minimize tribocharging when used with cleanroom gloves. ESD Safe Cleanroom Swabs enable ESD safe swabbing of small static sensitive components where ESD events must be controlled.
1600 Series Microfiber Swabs - Swab tips are constructed with ultra-clean MiraWIPE®, thermally bonded to a static dissipative polypropylene handle. Ideal for removing particles and excess epoxy from optical assemblies
1800 Series CleanWIPE Foam Swabs - Swab tips are constructed with an open cell CleanWIPE® polyurethane foam, thermally bonded to a static dissipative polypropylene handle.
1900 Series UltraSOLV Static Dissipative Foam Swabs - Swab tips are constructed with an open cell static dissipative UltraSOLV® polyurethane foam, thermally bonded to a static dissipative polypropylene handle for maximum protection against electrostatic discharge. UltraSOLV® foam, in addition to being static dissipative, is extremely low in tribocharging. UltraSOLV 1900 series swabs are widely deployed to clean low threshold devices such as RF FETS and giant magnetoresistive read/write heads. The high absorbency UltraSOLV foam enables more efficient cleaning of solder flux, epoxies, lubricants, inks, and solder paste.
1600, 1800, and 1900 series swabs are widely deployed to assemble ESD sensitive components in the hard disk drive, semiconductor, medical electronics, and aerospace assembly cleanrooms All three swab styles are manufactured and laundered in an ISO 5 & ISO 13485 cleanroom. All swabs are double-bagged to aid cleanroom entry procedures. All swabs are processed to be ultralow in particulates, non-volatile residues, and free of silicones.
MiraSWABS and UltraSOLV Swabs are highly absorbent for removal of excess epoxy, solder paste, and solder flux from pcb assemblies and hybrid circuits.
