Clean the Groove Without Damaging the Surface Around It
ScrubTIP® precision cleaning tools provide controlled access and targeted mechanical action for O-ring grooves, ports, holes, channels, corners, threads and other difficult-to-clean recessed features.
Available in multiple shapes, flexibility levels, abrasive materials and grits, ScrubTIP helps engineers replace improvised methods such as Scotch-Brite™ wrapped around screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, picks or other metal tools.
Why Improvised Tools Create an Uncontrolled Process
When an abrasive pad is cut, folded or wrapped around a rigid tool, its working geometry changes from operator to operator. During scrubbing, the material may slip, tear or expose the metal beneath it. Pressure can become concentrated at an uncontrolled point, while pad fibers, loosened residue and abrasive debris can remain trapped in the feature.
ScrubTIP replaces an improvised pad-and-tool combination with a defined cleaning tip designed for the geometry of the surface.

Match the Cleaning Method to the Residue
The objective is not to use more abrasion. It is to use only the mechanical action required, exactly where it is needed.

A Controlled Three-Step Procedure
Select the Tool
Identify the feature geometry, substrate, surface finish, residue, permitted liquid and inspection requirement. Choose the least aggressive configuration capable of reaching the complete feature.
Dislodge and Unload
Use controlled strokes. Keep mechanical action on the residue and away from adjacent qualified surfaces. Periodically unload the tip using the approved capture media instead of allowing residue to accumulate.
Final Clean and Verify
Remove loosened contamination with a geometry-matched MiraSWAB, UltraSOLV swab or MiraWIPE. Continue with fresh media until the approved endpoint is met.
Qualification Required
Abrasive material, grit, solvent, applied pressure and technique must be evaluated for the substrate and surface-finish requirement. For GMP equipment, use must be incorporated into an approved cleaning or maintenance procedure. Mechanical remediation does not replace investigation of recurring corrosion, passivation, repair or replacement where required.
